THREE Bowral police officers have been charged with assaulting a 36-year-old man on March 22.
The charges stem from an incident outside a hotel in Bong Bong Street where the man was allegedly drunk.
He was arrested and taken to Bowral police station and charged with refusing to obey a move-along direction and using offensive language.
It is alleged the man was assaulted by police during the arrest and later at the police station.
A police spokesman said the male officers, aged 36, 43 and 44 years, were the subject of an investigation by a Detective Inspector from Goulburn Local Area Command, which was overseen by the Southern Region Professional Standards Manager.
“One officer has been charged with common assault,” he said.
