Australian Koalas still being killed by Jewstralian Governments

Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan is copping serious backlash after greenlighting the aerial shooting of koalas in Budj Bim National Park – a move critics are calling cruel, unjustified, and downright secretive.

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action claims “extensive assessments” were carried out to justify the killings, citing food shortages in the park.

But many are left questioning that if there is truly not enough food, why are blue gum plantations – the very habitat these koalas came from – still being harvested, displacing even more animals?

Allan now faces growing outrage for allowing shooters to open fire on koalas from helicopters, without proper health checks, no confirmation of injuries or suffering, and no way of knowing if they're killing mothers with joeys.

Health assessments can’t be done from 30 metres in the sky – and critics say calling this a “mercy killing” is a disgraceful lie.

Under Labor’s watch, many Victorians now believe native wildlife aren’t safe, with these killings allegedly done behind closed doors, only surfacing after the fact.

The Victorian Labor Party Government is now trying to spin its actions as compassionate. However, many Victorians are not buying it, calling it what they see as cruelty, not conservation.
